About Us
My grandson, David, has autism and is nonverbal. When someone suggested we get him a weighted blanket, we had no idea what that was! We ended up attempting to make one for him, and eventually we just kept at it until we had come up with something we thought we should share! My friend Carol helped with coming up with the pattern and we spent a lot of time in the quilting room at church perfecting it. We still do a lot of work in that quilting room.
Now we have 5 women and 3 men as part of the Affordable Weighted Blankets™ team. All of us are able to do most of our work from home, so we are happy to spend more time with our families. We each pray for the recipient of the blanket we are making while it is being made. The letters we receive from customers saying that our work made a difference in their lives bless us so much and we read and pass around every one... so keep them coming.
David (my grandson)
His job is just to look cute and make me smile. He's pretty good at that.

Robert and Donna Chambers (Owner)
My main job is talking to the customers, answering emails, phone calls, etc. I like to personally respond to people and know what is going on at all times. I also pack and ship the orders and do our material purchasing. My husband Robert works full time, but but he is always willing to help out when I need him. He loves to read the emails and letters we get about the children and his heart goes out to them. He can often be found shopping for fabric with me and he will get just as excited as I do when he finds a good one! I am thankful for his support and that he has the vision for our ministry.
Cynthia
Cynthia, wife to Brian, stay at home mom to Jedidiah, Ezra, and Noah. You may notice that Jedidiah and Ezra have worked before as models for our products! Cynthia was the first person to contract for us sewing blankets. She has her hands full with all those little boys, but she still finds the time to make some beautiful blankets.
Roger and Carol Kittle
Roger is our Pastor at St. Elmo Avenue Baptist and Carol is his wife. Carol helped create the first blankets we made and has been there for every creation since! She does a little bit of everything now and is the driving force behind keeping us all organized and on track. She does all this while still sewing blankets all week long! Cynthia (above) is Carol's daughter.
Here is Roger, our pastor demonstrating a servants heart. :) He cuts fabric, irons it, and marks the sewing grid with chalk to make it easier for Carol to sew.
Sharon
Sharon (left) is one of Carol's long time good friends, and her husband is the pastor at New Covenant Baptist Church. She now works part-time as a pharmacy technician and sews blankets for us in her spare time.
Paul and Sheila
Sheila is Carol's sister. She has had some experience working with autistic children. Sheila is an expert seamstress and she puts a lot of care into every blanket she makes. Her husband Paul helps as well by cutting and marking the fabric beforehand. They attend Fairview Nazarene together where Paul is the Minister of Music.
Ben and Lauren Glick
Ben, our website designer and marketing specialist! Ben and his wife Lauren and new daughter Rachel are fellow church members and good friends. The list of things we count on Ben for is endless, and he is always faithful.
